Today is December 21, 2011, in exactly one year the world is going to end! That is what the doom sayers and those who believe the predictions of one of the ancient Mayan calendars are saying. The Mayans had over fifty different calendars and only one ends on December 21, 2012. Some believe there is going to be a “paradigm” shift or great awakening of mankind to bring humanity to a new level of thinking and existence on that day. Some in the Christian world are saying the Tribulation and Anti-Christ is going to be foisted upon the earth and the rapture is going to occur. I just want to say sleep easy tonight because we have a more sure word of prophecy and that is the King James Bible. What did our Savior Jesus Christ say about His second coming and the end of the world?
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven,
but my Father only.
-Matthew 24:35-36
Our Lord was very specific about His second coming and the end of the world telling us that only the Father knows. Our Savior will be sent when His Father is ready to send Him, it is that simple. Starting today I imagine the news media, so-called science and history channels and other outlets will be flooding our senses with predictions of impending doom in 2012. Do not listen to them. These groups are going to capitalize upon people's ignorance of the Bible and fear to reap profits and spread their deceitful message.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive
many.
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled:
for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
-Matthew 24:5-6
Our nation, our world is heading for troubled times, in fact we have been in troubled times for many years now and things don't seem to be improving despite what the media tells you. But is the end near? We live in a world ripe with the signs that Christ told His apostles would signal His second coming. Do not live in fear of the future but rather live with joy knowing that these signs signal the return of our Savior and these signs have been around our enitre lives. Someday the world is going to end, for some of us sooner, others later. That one end is called death.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement:
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that
look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
-Hebrew 9:27-28
The final countdown will come soon enough for all of us. If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then that countdown can be a fearful fact. Today is the day to stop the countdown of fear and accept Christ as your Savior. Why live in fear of December 21, 2012 or any other day? Your fears can be set aside and turned to hope if you accept Christ. Ask Him into your heart to be your Savior today.

I Like this one a lot. It gives a great picture of the state of the world today. Being someone that teaches on the end times, I've had more people than I can count ask me about this date. The meda has embedded that date into the minds of saved and unsaved alike. You are right each of our final countdowns happen each day when we wake up. We each have a Dec. 21 2012 date when our own personal calendars end. It is not that day or any other day that we need to fear. It is the eternity after that we need to be concerned about. In each of our finial countdowns our calendar has an end date. With no exceptions that date will come, as Hebrews 9:27 points out. It is not the when, how or where that we need to concern ourselves with. It is the where do we go after that we need to be concerned about. There are only two places, and no matter which of these two places we each go, the choice is all ours. I pray each reading this article will make the right choice. There is only one catch, you need to make the choice before your final countdown ends. And by not making a choice, you automatically make the wrong choice!!!
